Money Earning Projects<\/strong>
\nGirl Scouts is very supportive of developing entrepreneurship! Product sales train our girls early on to set goals and to learn how to budget for activities like camp, horseback riding and travel.\u00a0But often troops set a travel goal that costs more than they can earn by selling cookies and they look for new ways to earn money. This is where Money Earning Projects come in. \u00a0We\u2019ve got a great step by step guide to\u00a0planning a Money Earning Project\/Event here<\/a>\u00a0this covers the paperwork and timeline for getting it in.<\/p>\n

We recognize that individual girl scouts want to earn money to pay for Destinations too. Here is our guideline for\u00a0Individual Money Earning Project Planning<\/a>.<\/p>\n

What can we do to earn money?<\/strong>
\nThere are good suggestions on the back of the money earning project guidelines:
\nWorkshops-Try-It, Badge, Camp skills, etc.
\nCar washes
\nRefreshment stand \u00a0(no labeled product \/resale)
\nEvents-Daisy Day, Brownie Sports, Songfest, Gingerbread House Building, \u00a0etc.
\nWalking tours,
\nNature hikes
\nBack 2 School kits \/ Program in a box
\nBreakfasts, luncheons, dinners, teas, etc.
\nFace painting \u2013 offer your services at children\u2019s birthday parties or man a booth at your school fall festival
\nGift Baskets
\nDances
\nYard work
\nTroop\/Group \u201cown\u201d cookbook
\nPlays or concerts
\nGift-wrapping at holiday time
\nParty favors,
\nPlacemats
\nGarage sales (recycling is always great too, and you don\u2019t need a money earning form to do that)
\nHoliday cards
\nLuminarias
\nSeasonal Festivals
\nCraft items
\nGrow\/sell plants
\nChild Care (refer to council guidelines)
\nBaked goods
\nEvent photo booth
\nRemember to invite girls from other service units and to invite the Independent girls in your region to your workshops and fun events. Just remember to plan ahead as much as possible for the best turn out!<\/p>\n
