Girl Planning
You’ve had a successful parent meeting, you know who is going on the trip – adults and girls, you’ve registered the troop, and you’ve reserved lodging. So, now what?
Now the trip planning begins for your girls! What would they like to do during your visit? They need to research what is available wherever you’re going, the hours, the costs, the address, how long it will take to do it, how to get there, maybe see where the nearest public restroom will be, be able to pitch the idea to the troop and perhaps be your tour guide for that activity when you’re traveling. It’s helpful to do this now so you can add the cost of the events to your budget before you set cookie selling goals. Take your time with this part…it can take many meetings to do it right. There are lots of valuable skills to be learned by the troop as they study maps, learn to budget, research in guide books or online, discuss, make an itinerary and plan!
There are plenty of ideas of what to do (maybe you can put some choices in a hat and let each girl choose a few to research for the troop) .
If you are planning the trip to San Francisco –
You’ll find information about “what to expect” during the event on the NorCal webpage for participants:

And information about how to get around in the city (figure out what activities are close together so you can plan to see/do them most efficiently):
