The Influence Award – Remake project

One Idea – “The Golden Eaglet” (1918) In the early days of girl scouting Juliette Gordon Low used the storytelling power of moving pictures to get the word out about the benefits of bringing girls together for leadership, fun and sisterhood.

Taking inspiration from The Golden Eaglet, promote your own Girl Scout experiences by scripting and putting together a similar short film using video, photos or other media. Share it on the internet or with other community groups or girl scout troops or with some girl scout friends.

Another idea – Create your own remake project. pages 68-81 walk you through some ways that you might do that. (For adult mentors check out pages 64 to 65 in the adult guide for clarification.)

Please share your remake project in the comments. What did you do? Can you share it with us?

I am not able to post videos of our troop because my mum says that we have very strict privacy laws here in Europe and we would need each of their permission to be able to use their images. Instead I have created a collage and flyer that I think would be fun to hand out to bring more girls into girl scouts. The images reminded me of all the adventures that I have been on as part of girl scouts and the fun that I have had along the way!

Although I have been a Girl Scout for a long time, I did not have enough pictures to create an advertisement solely from them. Instead, I decided to create a collage that would inspire a girl like me to become a Girl Scout, using imagery to evoke the positive attributes I associate with Girl Scouts – strong female leadership, comradery, competence in wilderness survival and exploration, fighting for social change, and of course, cookies. I think it turned out pretty well – I attached it to this post.

I created a slide show that documented my girl scout journey from when I was a daisy to now as a cadette. It includes many amazing experiences and people. When I showed it to my troop, there were a few tears.

We made a video and showed it to our troop with are favorite memory’s about Girl Scouts
Party’s
Girl Scout Promise
Camping
Selling cookies
Making a movie
Planning our first badge

I created a slideshow with photos and anecdotes of my girl scout journey from since I was a brownie. It includes many fond memories and people in it. đŸ™‚

I made a slideshow of my Girl Scout experiences from being a Daisy until now (minus the covid years when we couldn’t do fun things). Fun trips, parades, giving back to the community and seniors in nursing homes, selling cookies, and earning badges are some things included.

I remade a perfume ad. The site is not letting me pot any files. The perfume ad looked more like an ad for movie so I changed it and added the perfume and clothes to the girl

I made a short slide show video of me and my troop. The pictures were of me and some of my closest friends in the troop, along with group photos of us when we were daisies and brownies, and troop trips.

It seems like a lot of people did slideshows, and I did too. I made one of all my friends being happy together, from when we were all tiny little kids in 1st grade to now.
